What about me? I am Hari Narayana, working as a Project Manager in an Indian Multi National Organization, one of the two children of my parents. I am always with varying moods and emotions in extremities and social. I have a life style of my own and do not mix personal and professional life.
A true Hyderabadi myself, i love my city and its culture; the culture which shows unity in diversity by creating South India’s biggest statue of Lord Ganesha by Mohammadean workers. Love the Irani Chai and Hyderabadi Biryani (never tasted it…am a vegetarian).
Recently my fiancée asked me how did i get so much interested in history. I need to attribute this to two people. One is my grandma from whom i used to listen stories of Shirdi Sai Baba and Gandhi. She actually saw Gandhi when she was very young. This created some interest in knowing things that are old. Also, there were a couple of old Telugu historical novels in my house which were collected my parents. Those novels were published as a serial in a magazine.
I read about kingdoms like Vijayanagara and Kakatiya, knew about people like Prithviraj Chouhan and Shah Jahan and read about Buddhism. That was probably the beginning. Being in Bangalore for nearly four years now has helped me in visiting many new places and the planning for those trips kept me learning more. This passion of knowing India probably is the driving force for my travel.
Travelling has been my passion for a long time. Even though i started visiting places quite recently, i had always read about the various places and their history. This blog is just an attempt to show India in its grandeur through my eyes..
My expeditions constitute a wide range of places like Nature, History and Heritage.

Hi, I came across your posts while searching for material on Bahamani Dynasty. I found them very informative. A request: Soon I am off on a solo bike journey across the Deccan in order to cover & photograph the forts and monuments of the Bahamani;s. If you have time do mail me the must- see and must- photograph places i should visit. And also any references on the web or books about the Bahamani’s. My intention is to publish a photographic book on the Bahamani;s as I find very little attention has been given to the subject in our text books or elsewhere. I am actually writing a fiction and a part of it deals with sculptures and sculptors life, I need some help in researching the accounts of personal and professional lives of the sculptors in ancient India. I would like to read about it. If you know anything please let me know.

Dear Narayana: I enjoyed your blog on Deccan architecture. Like you, I too am based now in Bangalore and deeply interested in Deccan History upto the Nizams of Hyderabad. I reflect a lot on the famous personalities of that period and wonder about life in those times. Would like to know more about Mahmud Gawan and Krishna Deva Raya.
